Bamburgh Castle

Bamburgh Castle

Castles

High on a hill right over the sea and dunes sits Bamburgh Castle where it has been for more than 1400 years and still remains one of the largest inhabited castles in the country. Instantly recognisable from its appearance in many feature films and TV shows Bamburgh casts a formidable shadow over the beach and its understandable why Bamburgh Castle is used as a backdrop to so many family days out and trips to the beach. The castle is open daily for tours and often hosts special events and activities. Parking is available inside the castle walls for those with mobility issues and there is an audio visual presentation showing the areas of the castle that may be inaccessible for some visitors. worthy of note is that disabled visitors will not pay a full entrance fee and can come on a reduced ticket price to reflect that they cannot access all areas. Carers are not charged and can come for free.

Takeaway refreshments are available from the Clock tower tea rooms.
