Bamburgh Beach / St Aiden’s

Bamburgh Beach / St Aiden's

Beach

A pretty village with a castle on the edge of a huge beach with views towards the Farne Islands and Holy Island further up the coast. What more could you want from a day out with so much to see and do and on top of that you can explore the dunes and go rock pooling under a lighthouse! Bamburgh provides something for everyone and is a great place to spend time sitting on the beach with a good book or a short walk into the village for an ice cream or pub lunch. You will also find the RNLI museum which gives visitors a real insight into the history of this much needed and valuable service and also tells the story of Grace Darling who with the help of her father rescued many men during a ship wreck in 1838. Grace Darling is buried in St Aiden’s Churchyard at the top of the village and this can be found directly opposite the museum.

Bamburgh Beach / St Aiden's

Probably Northumberland’s most iconic view Bamburgh has been listed near the top of Britain’s Best beaches for the last few years – its not hard to see why this is a firm favourite with many visitors.
